Not sure if you’re a Type-A? Read on to learn more about this amazing personality type.

Being labeled a Type-A personality used to have a bit of a stigma to it. Heck, you may even find yourself cringing at the word. But being a Type-A woman simply means you are:

Strong, Resilient, Driven, Hard-working, Determined, Decisive, Productive, Efficient, Ambitious, Organized

While all of these things can help you be an amazing leader, doer, achiever and nurturer, these traits can sometimes work against us and our overall health.

I am 100% a Type-A woman, and have prided myself on this fact for most of my life.

Yet, being Type-A (for me) led to higher levels of stress, self-judgement, guilt, shame, and overdoing. By allowing myself to be consumed with my overachiever personality, I overspent my time and energy and pushed myself into Adrenal Fatigue.

The beautiful thing about this difficult journey is that I’ve learned to embrace the advantageous pieces of my Type-A personality, while calming the not-so-helpful pieces of it.

I no longer say yes when I don’t want to.

I no longer work long hours or past my limits.

I no longer beat myself up for not hitting a certain goal in a certain timeframe.

I no longer compete with or compare myself to others’ successes.

I no longer live my life at an unsustainable speed.

I am still driven, organized, strong, resilient, and productive. Yet, now I’m also flexible, understanding, patient, calm and grounded.

If this resonates with you, please know you’re not alone! These traits were embedded in us from the womb. Shifting these behaviors is possible, so you can experience more joy, less stress and live the balanced life you’ve been dreaming of.
